my identity

Posted by Joel |

My identity in Christ means many things. First and foremost it means that my standing before God is justified by the propitiation of Jesus’ death and resurrection. He lived the life I could not live so as to die the death I should of died so I could reconciled to God. It is in Jesus my confidence is found and Jesus whom I live for through obedience, confession and repentance. Furthermore through the regeneration of my heart by the Holy Spirit I seek to conform myself to His image, seeking in all things to imitate Him. (Romans 5:12-6:14, 8:1-30; Colossians 2:6-15, 3:1-17)

Secondly, to find my identity in Christ means I am a part of His body. As the church is ‘the body of Christ’ I am in Christ by being in the church. This means fulfilling my calling as a disciple of Jesus to grow into Him who is the head and through which the body is held together, so that the body builds itself up in love with all humility, gentleness and eagerness to maintain the bonds of peace. (Ephesians 4:1-16)

Joel,

GREAT POST!

I want to say that I really love reading your blog, and think that every post has been a great post, I never seem to comment on much, I always think to myself that I will just talk to you about it when I see you, but then I forget to. I just wanted you to know that it is a regular stop for me and my brother, and that I am always very encouraged by what you share with us here. VERY EDIFYING!!!

Love In Christ,
David

P.s. Also, props on the fantastic photos you include in the posts, this blog is quite pleasing to the eye!
