We just finished dinner on our fourth night in Seattle. Spaghetti with spicy Italian sausage, focaccia and a California zin. The Decemberists play in the background.
Awesome.
So far we have settled in pretty well. I have to set up the TV and such tonight but other than that we only have about 3 boxes to unpack… all stuff that doesn’t really have it’s own place. The weather has been great, in fact a few have said that we must have brought some California with us: temps in the 80s all week. We both love our place and are looking forward to having new friends over for good times. Our new apartment will be a swell dwell when the rain comes. Today we had to go downtown to get a temporary parking permit and got a good idea of where the shopping is downtown. At the parking permit office we met a nice lady who told us stories of peeved Seattleites screaming about city parking and slamming fists on her counter. “I didn’t take kung-fu for nothing.” She said.
The picture above is taken from our deck. We can hear the seagulls and see quite a bit of scenery. Mt. Rainer is visible only slightly as it is mostly covered by skyscrapers. We will attend Mars Hill Church this Sunday evening and hopefully a community group this next week. I am looking forward to making new friends, although I already miss my California friends greatly. The following week Sarah and I will be meeting with the pastor of Seaside Church in Bremerton.
We love you all and appreciate your support more than you know.
Peace with you,
Joel and Sarah

I'm glad you guys made safe and safe and sound. My darling cat, also wishes that the trip wasn't all frustrating.
Down here in cali, we'll all miss you guys. And a word of advice, try not to get caught saying "hella." Because then everyone will know.
