I received the email this week that Sarah and I are officially members of MHC. We attended the 7 week Gospel Class and completed our interview. Being members means that I can officially be called an intern and start the process of becoming a deacon. This also allows me to start 'life training' - a program for interns in which you meet with a life coach every other week to discuss your marriage, finances, life, everything... its sounds pretty cool.
Ive never been a member of a church before, but I see great benefit to both the church and the member in this way of structure. The member is held to a standard of service as prescribed in scripture, but also reaps the benefits of belonging to a body of like minded believers who are on the same mission. Access to the fellowship of this body grants you prayer, support and accountability like no other. It really brings 'the Body of Christ' to life. What it means to be 'the church' has really lifted off the pages for me as I see it at work in our lives in MHC. Truly a blessing.
Construction is going good. We got up the major framing projects this week, and started grinding the concrete floors yesterday for the acid stain that will be applied. The electricians have been busy as well. Ive been learning a lot.
We do have an immediate need of cash. Please pray and ask if God would use you to support Sarah and I in this year of ministry.
